as transportation goes, the bridge is closed to all incoming traffic unless you're somebody like a first responder or media, and it's open for people going out, which is what they've asked everybody in the county to do in low lying areas and those under mandatory evacuations. we watched the city buses here in long beach went around on picking up people and shuttling them to shelters and the red cross set up a few of those, and they have pet friendly buses and pet friendly shelters for people to do that. we're talking about an unprecedented storm and people who even have grown up here their entire lives and never seen before. and some people heeded have the warnings and many people have and some people haven't and decide today hunker down, but they remember when irene barreled through the northeast here last year, the atlantic ocean in some places even touching the bay. so, we're talking about 11 foot storm surge and 20 foot waves on top of that potentially and a nightmare and hitting us harder later in the day. back to you. charles: anna kooiman in long island. well, we saw the acts of d
